These drinking glasses are like a sustainable, everyday reality of the Murano glass I dream of but can't afford/would drop immediately. They are gorgeous, heavy duty, dishwasher safe, and made of recycled glass by artisans in Mexico!

This loveseat/chair is a real conversation piece, and it's made of woven water hyacinth, which is an ecological alternative to wicker and rattan. I love cuddling up with my son here to read to him. (There’s a photo from our place on the UO site).

I bought these Peter Shire Echo Park pottery mugs for my partner and I a couple years ago (triangle handle for me, rounded for him) and we get joy (and coffee) from them every morning.

These handmade brooms are so beautiful as objects and make cleaning up an enjoyable practice for me and my kids (they even smell good). These Berea college ones are beautiful on the inside, too. Berea college was the first non-segregated, co-educational college in the south, is tuition free, grounded in both academics and labor. I love the rainbow one, which is made of hand-harvested and hand-dyed broomcorn, for our colorful house.

Cloth napkins are a must for us, and these bright blue Block Shop beauties are made of a really lovely linen. They look great on our table but also are perfect for mopping up urgent spills or messes.

Nancy Stella Soto has an awesome women's line, but she and her partner, artist Max Maslansky, also make these really jubilant ceramics under the name PapiBoyBabyBoy. I, ummm, have a real issue with toilet brushes, but we have super eco-toilets so.....but the only thing that creeps me out more than toilet brushes is plastic. Luckily, this toilet brush holder is fun and ceramic, so I never need to buy (or think about) another one. We bought a wood bristle brush to go with it.

Julia is a dear friend of ours and a special person and her upcoming book is exactly the kind of cookbook I love: filled with absolutely beautiful pictures and really fun design (my partner will hopefully make the recipes!). This is what everyone on my list is getting at the end of the year (sorry to spoil the surprise).
