LCD
In celebration of LCD’s 9th birthday, I’m recommending 9 items (instead of my usual 6) from one of my favorite places to shop and support. My selects include the usual suspects - creamy knits, non run of the mill denim, large hoop earrings, big trousers and sexy yet practical pumps. If you’re a fan of psychedelic sportswear, boundary pushing labels, the avant garde and adventurous, LCD has your back there as well. If you’re in Los Angeles, you can visit them on Abbot Kinney in Venice. The rest of the world would be wise to shop the website pronto since LCD’s items tend to sell out quickly.

Eckhaus Latta jeans are brilliant basics that aren’t basic at all. They are certainly not overly abundant and I have learned the hard way that they sell out fast. So if you dig them, pounce now. Another thing I’ve learned is that they run small - or maybe all other jeans run big - either way, size up.
One of these Wales Bonner dresses came home with me and I’m taking it on vacation. But don’t worry there are still a couple left. I’m planning on wearing this over my ivory bikini with lace up espadrilles or low heel sandals in Ibiza. In colder weather I’ll do the winter white thing and layer it over Heattech and tall cream boots.
I tried on these Maryam Nassir Zadeh sandals and can hereby attest that they are very comfortable. I can’t say that about all thong sandals. The thick stacked heel makes them a perfect shoe for running around doing daytime things without feeling like a fool who wishes they’d worn flats.
If regular old denim bores you to tears, or if you really get a kick out of getting side eyed glances to which you may want to say, “it’s called fashun, look it up”, these are the jeans for you. These put a tickle in my heart. Please get them and bring some levity to the world.
I mean….these hoops! I may be the world’s biggest hoop lover and these Laura Lombardi spiral hoops have my endorsement.
I’m really at a loss here as I try to express in words how much I love these Wales Bonner pants, so just picture me gesturing a chef’s kiss dramatically and sincerely .
There’s this scene in The Eyes of Laura Mars where Faye Dunaway is wearing culottes with side slits and when she crouches down to take a photo it reveals reveals her entire thigh above knee high boots. I love this side-slitted Sandy Liang skort because it reminds me of that scene. If you haven’t yet seen this 70’s thriller, queue it up now. It has some of the most inspiring and iconic wardrobe moments of any film from that era.
If you don’t already have a long sleeve scoopneck, trust me when I say this sexy staple will be on heavy rotation and will go with just about everything.
Oh the drama of this sleeve! With the elegant boat neck! Gah! I’ve been eyeing it for half a year and I’m shocked it’s priced at less than $300. Pair it with midi skirts and roomy trousers.
